Stretched by God

Published on 14 September 2024 at 09:25

Comfort is not a luxury meant for God's chosen.

I always know when God is going to make an adjustment because I find comfort and ease in where He has me.

Just as I began to get into a rhythm and develop a complacency in which the know has been explored and uncovered, a new and greater demand will be placed on me.

Of course, this is all to my benefit. Even more so, my soul has cried out for it.

Today, I was stretched and I obeyed. Last night, I was stretched and obeyed.

I was asked to do things that took me far out of my comfort zone but on the other side brought me closer to the Lord.

I reconciled before and after that "it really is just me and you Jesus, isn't it?" His response, "yes."

In order to do both things, I had to:

  • trust that God would lead and direct me
  • be willing to put my image aside
  • be willing to lose others who would not receive
  • surrender to the Lord afresh
  • accept that it was just me and Him on this journey

When I finished the Lord called me "His tool; His vessel".

As I reflect on this now, my eyes fill with tears because I don't think there is a greater name that the Lord can give you..."His".

My obedience has brought me closer in intimacy with Him.

Rebellion will turn you away; obedience will turn you too.

Let us be clear. Stretching will bring forth discomfort. They're growing pains that you must endure.

You may not get the instruction completely right. You may stumble and fall. You may feel stupid. You may even feel a little lost in the midst of your stepping out of what was and becoming.

Just know, Jesus is smiling in you and the father is looking down at you delighted in His child taking their small steps into their rightful royal, majestic place in His Kingdom as a leader of many to guide His sheep into His sheepfold.

To your obedience, he doesn't shake His head and criticize. He extends His arms out to embrace you in love and says "Job well done, good and faithful servant." He thanks you as the laborers are few because the many refuse to say yes and allow themselves to be stretched and processed. But you did!!

Regardless of what God has called you to do, do it cheerfully. Some days it will be amazing!!! Some days, it will simply be. You may even fall short in it. Don't let it stop you!!!!Keep going. There will be another day and another opportunity. Learn from it. Grow from it and keep going. Do the best you can and simply move forward and grow in God.

All of heaven is excited about the one that says Yes! God is delighted with the one that belongs to Him. Jesus wants to lead people in their destiny that is a part of Gods overarching plan for the entire world. Dont worry if you dont get it perfect. Perfection lives in you and He is perfecting you as we speak.

So keep following God. He's got you.

From Jesus:

Thank you Jennifer. This is a process that we are doing together. There is much more in store. I know you don't feel compensated or appreciated enough for what it is I have called you to do and what I have called you to do. No one knows how hard you have worked for me and my people all of these years. You have put yourself out there in terrifying situations for my sake only relying on your trust in Me. You have worked long hours forsaking sleep and family for me. I have seen your deeds Jennifer that no one will ever see. Your reward is coming. Hang on Jennifer. Just hang on. I see you. I love you. My good and faithful servant. All Mine.

Question of the day

Are you allowing yourself to be stretched by God?

Can He ask you do uncomfortable things that seem foreign and impossible; that are contrary to who you know yourself to be?

Know that challenge, although uncomfortable leads to growth and maturity in your spiritual walk.

If you are comfortable in your walk, ask God for the next step. Usually, it will be one that causes you stretch and grow in your faith.

Faith Stretching ~

By Deborah Ann Belka

Lord, today . . .
I’ll be exercising
for my faith can use
some real stretching.

I’ll be doing,
some strength training
so towards the mark
I can keep straining.

My perseverance,
seems a little wobbly
so I’ll be working on
a more trusting strategy.

I’ll need to do,
some heavy lifting
so my Bible I’ll pick up
to keep me from drifting.

My endurance,
I will be addressing
so into the goal . . .
I can keep on pressing.

Lord, today . . .
my faith I’m exercising
and I need Your Spirit
to do the energizing!

~~~~~
Philippians 3:14
“I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
