Today, I am so beyond excited.
It is the realization that I am living my dream.
See, I spent my whole adult life working in the military for 20 years!!
Then I spent 3 years at seminary.
I spent 22 years taking caring of kids, family, a husband.
My life was never about me.
My home was my prison, my life was only about sacrifice
I gave my life, my identity, my dreams all to make others happy and hold up everything.
Dreams were a risk to the very survival of the family as I was the breadwinner for most of the time so I stopped dreaming to focus on the reality of my responsibilities.
I hated waking up mornings because I knew that the weight of this world with all of its responsibilities and demands was waiting to crush me.
Decade after decade, I broke several times. No one seemed to care.
Today though, I am healed, happy and carefree.
I am 100% my true authentic self.
I get to be with Jesus.
I get to do what I love each and every day.
My life is no longer full of I have too's but I get too's.
Usually around this time, I would have spent 100's of dollars, worked countless hours for gifts and items for activities. I would be exhausted planning the perfect day, shopping, cooking, people pleasing.
My secret was that I couldnt wait for the day to be over.
Today I am free. I will go visit my adult children pressure free, love on them and let them love on me.
And then back to my care free life in Jesus.
This realization has hit me so powerful today because I realized I really am living the dream-the longing of my soul and
I have worked hard enough to do it guilt free!
It's 6:30 a.m. and I have been up for hours praying, "working", doing what I want to do for me and Jesus.
This is the life! This is freedom.
It came at a heavy cost but on days like this, it is worth every penny.
If you walked away from everything to serve Christ by His instruction, know that Christmas,
IS ABOUT CHRIST
and you have all day to be with Him and honor Him.
Don't be fooled by this world which you hated anyway.
Enjoy the true reason for the season. Find your joy in Christ!
Happy Birthday Jesus!
